Collection: Hugo Reid Scott

Hugo is a sculptor based in Deal, originally from South London. He studied at City & Guilds of London Art School and works primarily in stone. A lifelong fascination with history and ancient cultures has developed into a particular interest in Ice Age art and early image-making. His sculptures move between figurative and abstract form, often centred on solitary figures.

His work sits in dialogue with Ice Age, Egyptian and pre-Columbian sculpture, while exploring a personal visual language rooted in carving. He is interested in how early cultures understood carved objects and the natural world as living, meaningful presences, and in creating sculptures that feel both ancient and contemporary.
