Richard Whadcock - New Paintings
Taylor-Jones & Son are delighted to announce our first solo show of works by Richard Whadcock.

Chalk Edge, Oil on canvas, 120 x 120 cm
As an internationally represented artist, Whadcock is one of the gallery's most sought after names and this new body of work shows just what makes his pieces stand out above other abstract painters. His use of colour, brushwork and structure are second to none. Whilst his works may seem like complete abstraction, they are often based on real landscapes, moments in time and elements of human structure are seen within. He says of his works:
“…I don't think they are immediate paintings. The images enveloped in light and air reveal themselves the more you stand in front of them, if you are willing to let them, in the same way that a real landscape is taken in as you walk through it…”
After working with Whadcock for 7 years Taylor-Jones & Son are delighted to bring you this first solo show from him and hope you can join us for the launch at 6pm on Good Friday. There are 20 new works on display, the most we have ever had from this artist.
He will be making a rare appearance and the evening offers the chance to talk with him about his work and practice. There will be a short Q&A session at 6:45pm. We hope you can make it.
