New For March
March heralds the start of British Summer Time on our clocks, always a good feeling and we can all hope the dreary start to the year will be behind us too.

Prancing, Susannah Preston, acrylic on canvas, 120 x 100cm.
To herald in the first new shoots of spring you don't get newer than this painting from Susannah Preston. It's so brand new, the only photograph we have is on her easel taken just after she finished her last brush stroke. It's with the framers now but will be in the gallery and on our website in the next few days. We think you'll agree the painting is redolent of spring with its palette of greens, whites and pale blues.

Deal Pier, Marc Gooderham, pastel drawing, 80 x 65cm.
Taking pride of place in our front window is Marc Gooderham's pastel drawing of Deal Pier. Just looking at it takes you for a stroll to the end of our iconic landmark and back on a beautiful sunny day.

Fallen Rainbow III, Sophie Hope Flavell, oil and cold wax on canvas. 126 x 96cm.
Sophie Hope Flavell's new arrivals capture the drama of our coastal vistas. Colourful clouds fly high above seas bordered by shorelines punctuated by tiny points of light. Fallen Rainbow III is one of her larger paintings but smaller cloudscapes start at 44cm x 54cm so you can find the perfect piece whatever your room size.
Purple Haze, Christine Hodson, oil and mixed media on board, 41 x 51cm.
We have a lovely trio of new small works in from the ever popular Christine Hodson. The current pieces hark back to some of her earliest works with plenty of visible collage including the tax disc suns which are a real favourite here in the gallery.
New Dawn (Choughs), Max Angus, 4 Block lino cut.
This work has been selected for the Royal Society of British Artists show at the Mall Gallery in London and we are pleased to have a print available through us here in Deal. Its's a very relevant piece as Choughs have recently been released back onto the White Cliffs of Dover after an absence of 200 years when the birds were lost to persecution
