Iconic Architecture

Can you think of a more iconic building in Deal than The Royal? Perched on the edge of the beach, it has borne witness to the comings and goings of this tempestuous stretch of sea for over 200 years.  Richard Friend has added his magic touch to create a modern day interpretation of the building, cloaked by the starry sky and basking in the glow of the full moon.

'Beach Parlour', Berne Vaughan, oil on canvas, 46 x 61cm
The Beach Parlour on Deal's seafront is loved by one and all, young and old. Many a summer holiday has been rescued by delving into a knickerbockerglory whilst waiting for the rain to clear. With it's original 1950's interior, it's a classic venue that's a must place to visit when you're in Deal.
