August's in Full Bloom

Here in Deal we have blue skies, glorious sunshine and big blowsy flowers blooming in gardens and window boxes. If you love summer blooms and have ever visited the gallery you will have seen Michele Turriani’s Vestiges and Bloom series of photographs. These huge images in editions of just five are inspired by Dutch Old Master paintings and are a firm favourites with us and our clients, but his appeal spreads much further.  You can see Michele’s work if you visit the Royal Academy this month as one of his pieces has been selected for this year’s Summer Exhibition.  We’re delighted to reveal that Michele has created two much smaller more affordable images exclusively for us and we think you’ll agree they are both gorgeous. They retain all his flamboyance and style but are a longer edition of 150 which is reflected in the price.

Adam Binder’s sculpture has gone down a storm this summer and understandably so. His bronzes capture the very essence of his animal subjects. He has recently delivered the most incredible elephant, a tortoise so lifelike, if you spotted it in someone’s garden you’d think it was a pet and a series of delightfully delicate birds. Do pop in and take a look.

Richard Taylor-Jones’ Falling Tide Rising Sun captures the atmosphere of a summer’s morning looking out to see in Deal. It’s a hazy, languorous image that brings to mind slow holiday mornings with nothing more pressing to do than gaze out to see. While it’s not new to the gallery, we do need to let you know that we are down to the last two of the edition of 50 left in the gallery. So if you’ve had your eye on one for a while, you’d better get in there quickly.

All that remains to say is enjoy the rest of the summer, don’t forget your SPF and if you’re a little bit warm, our basement gallery is the perfect space to cool off and enjoy some art.
