New In: April

It's most fitting that the new works we have in the gallery this April radiate the joys of spring. With a colour palette of greens, blues and yellows we can look forward to the warmer weather to come...if the rain ever decides to stop!

'It All Going To Be Ok (Southbank Centre, London)' by Ben Fenton. Oil on canvas, 92 x 122cm, £3,995.

Ben Fenton continues his series of paintings of London's South Bank Centre with this latest stunner. The colours, geometrics and curves all work together to create a wonderful composition. Once again Fenton has worked his magic, making concrete look absolutely beautiful.

'Swallow A Summer Makes' by Susannah Preston. Acrylic on canvas, 152 x 122cm. £6,000

The latest painting in Susannah Preston's Desmene series takes a new perspective on her imagined Kentish Estate. The blue sky dotted with clouds looks down on a chalk swallow nestling in an undulating landscape bursting with life. This painting brings to mind Laurie Lee's poem, Home from Abroad where he remembers the Kentish landscape as pale and domestic but revisits it to find, "Her rolling tidal landscapes floods the eye and drowns Chianti in a dusky stream." Look up the poem, it is wonderful as is the painting.

'Deal Pier' by Richard Friend. Acrylic and gouache on watercolour paper, 21 x 29cm, £795

Richard Friend has made another little gem of a painting for us. Who can resist the view of Deal Pier? This painting takes the eye on a journey from the promenade down the pier and out over a shimmering green, yellow and blue sea. The full moon over the pier gives a glorious pop of orange to the composition.
