Dimple Stone
Jason Mulligan
Bethersden Marble
28 x 25 x 11cm
Dimple Stone is part of a series of carvings entitled the 'Excavation Series'. It consists of museum style artefacts from a fictional archaeological dig.
The object is an implement with an edge, a point or a percussion surface, implying that they may once have been tools from a lost civilisation.
Carved from a unique piece of Kentish ‘Bethersden Marble’ which is not commercially quarried but is normally dug up through agricultural farming.
