Russel Loughlan is a graduate of the MA at Central St. Martins, London. Working in illustration and collage, he uses reclaimed objects sourced from flea markets as well as items scavenged from local junk shops and collected from around the world. Collected on his travels, these often overlooked second-hand souveniers are given a new significance and reworked. By attributing emotions to animals, his thought-provoking texts and images give voice to hard-to-express human feelings. The results are sometimes funny, sometimes shocking, but always touching.
